Registration:
$35.00 will
include both days and will be processed on-line by Active.com. A small
fee will be added for their services. Plans are well underway for our
35th annual Tri-State Seacoast Century on Sept. 20-21 with headquarters
again to be at Hampton Beach State Park. Format will be much like our
2007 event with rides of 25, 50, 63, and 100 miles being offered on both
Saturday and Sunday. Support services will include snack items, rest stops
available about every 25 miles, sag wagon, trip time log, and an event
T-shirt. Rides start at 7:00 a.m. (or later if desired - this is not a mass start ride) with all services
terminating at 5:00 p.m.
Registration closes on August 31. All registrations will
be accepted on-line only - no mail-ins or walk-ins. There is a limit of
1600 riders for the weekend.
Lodging:
Numerous motels and some campgrounds in the area will be glad to accommodate Century participants. Please make your own arrangements for lodging or camping. The GSW assumes no responsibility for lodging plans, agreements, or payments for cyclists attending this event. Call the Hampton Chamber of Commerce at http://www.hamptonbeach.org,
call 1-800-GET-A-TAN, or visit the commercial web site http://www.hamptonbeach.com, call 1-866-230-9011.
Volunteers Needed:
About 80 people will be needed to work five-hour shifts in support of this annual and very popular event. If you can help from 7 AM to noon or noon to 5 PM either Saturday, September 20, or Sunday, September 21, please contact our Century Volunteer Coordinator Jean Manning at 603-434-4011, email GSWcontact@aol.com. All volunteers will receive a free event registration for themselves (or another lucky person) plus TWO T-shirts -- the standard "participant" shirt and a special, highly noticeable "volunteer" shirt. Please contact Jean for more information.
Pre-Event Volunteer Ride Planned:
Volunteers are welcome to enjoy an unsupported ride of the Century route the Saturday before the event, September 13. The ride options are 17, 83 or 100 miles. The 17 & 100 mile rides will leave HBSP between 7:00 and 7:10 AM doing the Massachusetts section. The 83 mile and 100 mile continuation ride will leave HBSP 8:20 to 8:40 AM. If raining at HBSP then no ride. In 2007 the 100 mile ride was about 9 hours.
Ride Leader: Bob Koehler (603)432-7341 or gsw100@verizon.net.
Please let me know if you plan to ride with us.
